Kiariosity Adventures Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Kiariosity Adventures is a learning game for children ages 3–10, provided by Kiariosity Universe LLC. This policy describes the Android app. Our website and newsletter have separate practices described in the website privacy policy.
Information on your device
Explorer names, avatars, age bands, activity progress, question history, rewards, streaks and preferences are stored locally, with a local recovery copy. Profiles are not automatically uploaded as cloud profiles. Parent Mode provides profile and local-data deletion controls. The Parent Mode PIN and service credentials use platform-protected storage. Narration audio may be cached locally.
Online narration
Online narration sends story or learning-prompt text to our narration service, which uses ElevenLabs to generate speech. Current requests exclude the explorer’s local display name and full learning profile. The app does not record children’s voices or require microphone access. Providers may process connection and request metadata needed to deliver the service.
We have disabled ElevenLabs’ model-improvement data-use setting for new submissions. ElevenLabs keeps narration generation history. We review Kiariosity narration history weekly and delete entries aged 23 days or more, with the aim of removing them from our account history before they reach 30 days. This is our manual cleanup procedure, not a guarantee that every provider backup, security record or previous training use is erased.
Purchases
Parents may purchase the Full Adventure upgrade through Google Play. Google Play handles payment information. Our app and verification service use the product identifier and purchase token to verify, acknowledge and restore entitlement. We do not receive payment card numbers. Verified entitlement is securely cached on the device for up to seven days between online checks. Deleting an explorer profile does not cancel a Google Play purchase.
App and device security
Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity help protect online narration, purchases and Learning Stars. Google/Firebase process app and device verification information to issue security tokens sent to our services. Hosting and security providers may process connection metadata, IP addresses and verification signals. The app does not use an advertising SDK, Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.
Optional Learning Stars
Learning Stars is optional. Parents enroll through Parent Mode and submit a parent email to Kids Web Services (KWS) for adult verification. Kiariosity stores a keyed email hash, the selected age group, permission choices, notice version and verification reference. Scoring requires parent permission; leaderboard sharing is a separate choice. The Parent Mode PIN alone is not verified parental consent. Local adventures do not require enrollment. After the matching verification result is received, the app activates the selected explorer. Pending verification requests expire after 24 hours.
Enrollment uses the activation code, a random membership identifier and a credential. The service stores a generated alias, age group, consent reference, enrollment expiry and scoring records. Online challenges send question identifiers and selected answers; records include correctness, points and learning dates. For enrolled explorers, correct regular adventure answers can send a random event identifier, world identifier and correctness result for scoring. Earlier local play is not uploaded retroactively.
When a parent enables leaderboard sharing, other enrolled users can see the explorer’s generated alias, age group, points, rank and learning-day count. Learning Stars does not receive the local profile name, exact birthday, photo, school or location. Generated aliases and random identifiers relate to an enrolled learner and are not completely anonymous data.
Parents can remove participation and online scores in Learning Stars Parent Controls while preserving local adventure progress. An internet connection is required; if removal fails, retry when connected.
Use and recipients
Information supports learning, narration, optional scoring, purchase verification and service security. Google Play, Google/Firebase, ElevenLabs and Railway-hosted services support these functions. Other enrolled users receive the limited leaderboard information described above. The app contains no ads or child chat. Children’s learning profiles are not used for targeted advertising.
Retention and deletion
Local profiles and recovery copies remain until deleted through the app’s controls or device storage is cleared. A regular Learning Stars activation code and its linked participation expire 365 days after the code is issued. The service periodically removes expired memberships, linked consent references and scoring records; completed parent removal also deletes those linked records. Learning-answer and event records have a 400-day cleanup limit, further limited by participation expiry or removal. The device’s offline scoring queue remains until synchronized or removed with participation. Purchase entitlement is cached separately for up to seven days; Google Play manages its purchase records.
Our narration service keeps generated audio in a capacity-limited memory cache, with a 24-hour reuse window. Cache entries are removed when replaced, evicted or the service restarts; the reuse window is not a guaranteed deletion deadline. The service stores an aggregate daily character count for usage limits. No service-volume backups are currently configured for narration or Learning Stars. Providers apply their own retention rules to security and technical records.
Privacy-request emails are handled through our Kiariosity Google Workspace inbox. We review closed cases weekly and remove ordinary correspondence, identifying attachments and related mailbox copies, including Trash, within 90 days after closure. A documented legal obligation or active dispute may require longer retention, with a recorded reason and review date. Removal from our mailbox does not mean immediate erasure from every Google system; provider recovery periods and other applicable retention rules may preserve copies longer.
Parents’ choices and requests
Parents can manage local profiles in Parent Mode and remove optional Learning Stars participation in its Parent Controls. To request review, correction or deletion of information held by Kiariosity, or withdraw consent for optional online participation, email admin@kiariosity.com with the subject “Kiariosity Adventures privacy request”. We may need to verify the parent or guardian and identify the online membership before providing access or making changes. Do not email passwords, payment details or identity documents. Local-only information is managed on the device because we cannot access those profiles remotely.
We monitor the privacy inbox each business day and aim to acknowledge requests within three business days.
Security
Configured online connections use HTTPS. Sensitive local credentials use platform-protected storage, and online requests use security tokens. No storage or transmission method provides an absolute security guarantee.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy and its date when information practices change.
